Ellenborough Park Hotel, a five-star country house hotel in Gloucestershire, has announced its ‘next chapter’ as it undergoes a refurbishment of its guest bedrooms and Brasserie revamp.
Work on the extensive refurbishment project has already begun and is set for completion in March 2023, in time for the Gold Cup Race Festival, a key date for the team at Ellenborough.
As part of the revamp, all 61 guest bedrooms at the property are undergoing an ‘affectionate refurbishment’ with ‘lavish fabrics, elegant wall coverings, plush carpets, and country chic furnishings.’
Some bedrooms will be completely redesigned, while others will be extensively updated. Due to its historic nature, all of the bedrooms at Ellenborough Park are different shapes and sizes, so the look of each will be individually styled.
The new bedrooms will also all have unique names, designed to reflect the Cotswolds – these include Blossom, Wildflower, Countryside, Tudor, Chrysanthemum, Gingham and Rustic.
The redesign of the bedrooms is being overseen by South-African born designer Ilze Reinke, who is based locally. Reinke describes the task as “a dream job that has required much careful thought and consideration to capture the history and elegance of the building, ensuring that it reflects the same grandeur in these modern times.”
In an effort to be environmentally sensitive, Reinke is reusing and repurposing as many elements of the bedrooms as she can, aiming comprehensively to refresh the room rather than starting from scratch.
The Horse Box, Ellenborough Park’s brasserie, will also undergo a complete style transformation, complete with soft leather brocades, low lighting, tartan flooring, and countryside tweed fabrics.
Marwan Hemchaoui, General Manager of Ellenborough Park Hotel, commented: “Planning of this project began long before the pandemic, so it feels even more special to fulfill now. We are very proud of Ellenborough’s growth over the past few years, and these new bedrooms are a fitting celebration of our 10 year anniversary.”
