A new £55m apartment and hotel scheme in Ashford is to be developed by spring 2020 on an empty site opposite Ashford International railway station.

The development, which is being spearheaded by Elevate Property Group, will see a 120-bedroom hotel and 216 flats created on grounds located on Victoria Road.

The venture marks the Birmingham-headquartered company’s first project into the south east and is being carried out by contractor J A Ball of Leicester.

Steve Dodd, managing director of Elevate, said: “We were offered the opportunity to acquire this empty site directly opposite Ashford International railway station in a prime area of Kent.

“We recognised the tremendous potential with significant investment already made in the town and an ongoing commitment to other projects.

“We are mindful that the ‘within one hour to London’ factor is a strong selling point, but such good access to Europe and the rest of the south east of England is also a tremendous plus.

Savills has been appointed as the selling agents.

Director Tom Bryant added: “This is gateway site for the town and we have seen strong demand from both the domestic and international market.”
