The Great British Bake Off has erected its famous tent at Down Hall Hotel as it becomes the new location for filming the popular Channel Four series.
The tent has been pictured in the hotel’s 110-acre ground in aerial images published this week.
The 11th series of the programme sees the location move from Welford Park in Berkshire to the Hatfield Heath venue in a move that is said to halve the commute for stalwart judge Paul Hollywood.
The baker lives around an hour’s drive from the 98-bedroom hotel and spa.
For filming, Hollywood will be joined by fellow judge Prue Leith and presenters Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas, who replaces comedian Sandi Toksvig.
It has also been reported that the 12 contestants will be younger than usual as a special precaution for Covid-19.
The series will be edited into 10 episodes and is expected to bring significant media coverage to the hotel.
Down Hall Hotel last year renovated its meetings and events spaces and was also named Essex Wedding Venue of the Year.
