Retreats Group, which comprises of three unique hotels in Wales, is to focus on bedroom expansions and a restructure to help drive momentum to the business following a hugely successful year in 2019.
The group is headed up by Paula Ellis, who was awarded the UK Independent Hotelier 2019 accolade at last year’s Independent Hotel Show. She joined the team in October 2014 and has been instrumental in the growth of the business ever since.
Now for 2020, she has revealed to Boutique Hotelier plans to invest £3.5m in a bedroom expansion across the portfolio.
Twr y Felin Hotel will benefit from a 20 -bedroom extension, bringing its total room count to 41, while six bedrooms and eight bedrooms will be added to the inventory at Roch Castle and Penrhiw Priory respectively.
The rooms will be open from September 2020.
Ellis also explained that the success of the last three years prompted a restructure in 2019, with a new operations manager being appointed.
Lola Villard joined from her position as F&B and operations manager at St Brides Spa Hotel in Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire.
Former F&B manager at Olga Polizzi-owned Endsleigh for six years, Krzysztof Grobelny, has also been appointed as F&B manager across the group.
