EXCLUSIVE: Former SLH CEO joins Forbes Travel Guide with quality and service ‘number one motivator’


The former CEO at Small Luxury Hotels of the World has joined Forbes Travel Guide, the independent, global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants and spas.

Filip Boyen left his role at SLH in July after three years at the helm of the brand portfolio which consists of over 500 SLH hotels in more than 80 countries.

He was replaced by Jean-François Ferret.

Now it’s been revealed that he has joined Forbes Travel Guide as CEO and speaking to Boutique Hotelier, he said that the position was ‘the best job in the world’.

Commenting to BH, he says: “Quality and service delivery have always been my number one motivators as a hotelier. At Forbes Travel Guide we do just that! We champion, support and celebrate those with a passion for exceptional service! This must be the best job in the world!”

Prior to joining SLH in July 2015, Boyen was appointed executive vice president and COO at Belmond where he was stationed for six years.

Forbes Travel Guide is a star rating service and series of travel guides for hotels, restaurants and spas, which was founded in 1958.
