Sopwell House is on the hunt for a new general manager to take on the task of launching the property’s new £12m spa.
The Georgian country house hotel, which is owned and operated by AB Hotels, is calling for a ‘positive and energetic’ new manager to lead the team and drive momentum to the new spa which is due to open in early 2019.
Construction on the epic new spa and 430 metre outdoor spa garden began last summer and once complete, will bring a dramatic revenue increase to the business, which already turns over £15m.
Rafi Bejerano, director, tells BH: ”This is an amazing opportunity to work with passionate owners in a truly unique independent hotel. We’re looking for someone positive and energetic who inspires their team, leads from the front and has a real desire to please our guests. Service is at the heart of everything we do and therefore this job fits an experienced and dynamic operator who enjoys being visible and hands on.”
The new hire will replace Thomas Garlich who joined in April 2017.
Sopwell House is run by the Bejerano family, headed up by brothers Rafi and Alon, and was first opened in 1986 by their father Abraham.
The property, situated near St Albans only 20 minutes from London, is home to 128 bedrooms and suites including 16 individually designed Mews Suites.
There is also a 2 AA rosette restaurant, brasserie, conservatory bar, cocktail lounge, 14 conference rooms for social and corporate events.
Sopwell House is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Conde Nast Johansens and also Pride of Britain Hotels.
