Hometel brand room2 is to launch its fourth site in Chiswick, West London after planning permission was accepted.
The brand, which is part of the Lamington Group, will begin work on the new project at the disused office building in Q2 2019 with a completion date set for Q4 2020.
The site follows the launch of room2 Hammersmith in 2016 and room2 Southampton in June this year, with room2 Manchester expected to open its doors in later 2020.
The Chiswick hometel will be home to 78 rooms, over four floors and a basement, comprising multiple room layouts; a shared ‘living room’ with bar, café, lobby and work space, which opens onto Windmill Road; as well as a gym and laundry.
The current building will be demolished and replaced with brick exterior; Project Orange has been appointed architect and design team on the new venture, having also designed the brand’s site in Southampton.
An owned site, the Lamington Group team will develop and manage the hometel.
Robert Godwin, founder of room2 and managing director of property business Lamington Group, commented: “We’re so excited to be growing and expanding the hometel concept further. It’s proving to be highly successful in Southampton, and guests can expect the same and more in Chiswick. We’re also keen to continue our expansion plans and welcome enquiries from interested partners and/or investors to join us on our mission to transform the long-stay apart-hotel market across the UK.”
Room2 currently has an existing committed pipeline of almost 375 units across the UK and three further sites in early discussions.
Lamington Group is the 51 year-old family-owned property investment and development business which holds and operates residential and commercial assets of £80m+ across the UK, including a successful serviced apartment business under the Lamington brand.
