Farlam Hall

Farlam Hall in Cumbria is welcoming guests once again after a major refurbishment that has seen the historic property given a new look.

The Grade-II listed Farlam Hall, which was acquired May 2019 by regular guests Joe Walter and Kathy Mares from the US, has been refreshed with new furnishings and fittings courtesy of Ghyll House Upholstery and Design.

The hotel and its 2 AA Rosette restaurant reopened last week to guests.

Previously run by the Quinion family for four decades prior to the sale, Farlam Hall is operated by Joe and Kathy alongside their other property in Carmel, California.

The sale of the hotel also saw a management team being introduced, husband and wife team, Peter and BB Hall. The Halls came from 28 years managing Wadenhoe House in Northamptonshire which was recently sold back into private ownership.

Speaking to local press about the new look, BB Hall said: “The owners wanted to put back all the aspects which make Farlam Hall such a wonderful country house hotel and such a lovely place to relax.”

The Ghyll House team, led by general manager Joe McAlpine, serve a range of hotel, leisure, and other businesses across the north of England and Scotland.
