Firmdale’s second New York boutique opts for Aquavision

Boutique hotel group Firmdale proved that luxury was at the top of its agenda at its newest hotel in the US, after installing Aquavision televisions at The Whitby Hotel in New York.

The Whitby Hotel is Firmdale’s second property in the US city, and is home to 86 bedrooms and suites across 16 floors.

Aquavision was chosen to provide the televisions for the hotel bathrooms, having first started working with the group at its Charlotte Street Hotel in London, before rolling out its televisions across the Firmdale portfolio.

The suites in The Whitby Hotel feature granite or marble bathrooms as well as the 22 inch Genesis Aquavision televisions, free standing baths, double basins and walk in showers.

The Genesis model features Freeview tuner, two HDMI inputs, Scart Component and a built-in amplifier, available 16 inch, 22 inch, 27 inch, 32 inch or 42 inch screens.

All Aquavision televisions are manufactured in their own factory in the UK and feature heated screens to avoid misting up.

All products are suitable to install in bathrooms, showers and wet room as they are fully waterproof to IP66 rating when installed according to the instructions and carry a two year in-home warranty as standard (in the UK).

Firmdale Hotels comprises ten hotels in central London and New York. In London’s West End there is the Ham Yard Hotel which opened in 2014, The Soho Hotel, Covent Garden Hotel, Charlotte Street Hotel and Haymarket Hotel as well as the three townhouse properties, Dorset Square Hotel in Marylebone, Knightsbridge Hotel near Harrods and Number Sixteen in South Kensington. Crosby Street Hotel opened in New York’s SoHo in 2009 and The Whitby earlier this year.
