Oceanside Hotel 3

A new hotel has opened in Cornwall, marking the launch of a ‘new breed’ of accommodation in the area.

Oceanside is a new independent hotel overlooking Fistral Beach in Newquay, dedicated to ‘thalassophiles’, those who are ‘magnetically attracted to the sea’.

The hotel features 28 bedrooms, a chill-out deck, restaurant and lounging areas and open spaces, as well as quirky extras such as parking spaces for your surfboard.

Oceanside is owned by Will Hatfield, a second-generation hotel owner who has overseen the development of the building which was originally built in the 1920s.

Oceanside owner Will Hatfield said, “The presence of the ocean runs through everything here at Oceanside. It’s evident in our interior styling, in our colour palette and it inspires our menu and shapes our ethos.

“We can’t wait to throw open the doors of Oceanside and welcome friends, family, visitors and well-behaved canines alike to come together and simply hang out, relax and enjoy delicious Cornish local food and drink, constantly engaging with nature and the sea.”
