The Lancrigg Hotel in Grasmere reopened on Valentine’s Day after major refurbishment work with a new look and new name.
The business is owned by Simon Wright, who took over in 2016, and will be renamed Lancrigg Restaurant with Rooms and now boasts updated interiors and a new menu.
Each of the hotel’s 10 bedrooms have been given a makeover, with gas central heating and a new commercial hot water system.
The public areas now feature faux ivy in the hallway, in a bid to bring the outdoor in with a botanical feel.
Owner Wright is hoping the new look will see the restaurant awarded its first AA Rosette.
Staff accommodation has also been given an uplift.
Simon Wright said: “To see Lancrigg refreshed under this current renovation is so fulfilling. So much effort has been put in by our team and we are all delighted with the result. Our goal was to retain the character and quirks of the place whilst bringing it into the future which I think we have achieved. It is great to see Lancrigg blossoming again and the potential of the place start to emerge.”
Other work Wright has already carried out includes the addition of the Poet’s Bar, a lounge area.
