The Bird, Bath has now officially been introduced to the market, following the completion of a transformation project spearheaded by its owners Ian and Christa Taylor.
The Victorian villa hotel on Pulteney Road, Bath has revealed 31-individually designed bedrooms, increasing the room count by four, and newly-designed event spaces, 18 months after the Taylors acquired the property.
Converting the former County Hotel, The Bird joins No.15 Great Pulteney and Homewood as part of the Kaleidscope Collection.
Throughout the building there are nods to avian with bird-themed sculptures, crockery, wallpaper and staff uniforms, with statement art and lighting peppered in the design.
Hypnos beds, Dyson hairdryers and Malin + Goetz bath and body products are in every room, while breakfast is served downstairs in The Roost
Building on the success of last year, when the Taylors opened the city’s first beach bar, new for 2019 is a Nook Garden, and once the summer pop-up comes to an end, the garden will be transformed into a Christmas Tavern.
“Christa and I have always had a great passion for hotels and creating something that’s fun, eclectic and different for Bath, while ensuring luxury, comfort and the best possible service on every level, is what we love to do,” says owner Ian Taylor. “We’re delighted with the transformation and finished product here at The Bird, Bath. The signage, lighting and planting gives passers-by a hint of the new look and feel, but we hope people will come and experience the hospitality of our hotel and seasonal pop-ups for themselves.”
