Five year anniversary at Ambleside boutique marks 10% turnover increase

Lake District Arts and Crafts boutique Nanny Brow is celebrating five years in business and has marked the occasion by reporting a 10% increase in turnover.

Following an extensive refurbishment, the five-star hotel opened in 2011 and has recently recorded one of its busiest seasons ever in business.

In November 2015, Nanny Brow was named in the top 20 North West Hotels by travel site ‘Trivago’, scoring 93.66 out of 100 and was a finalist for 2016’s ‘Family Business of the Year’.

In June of this year, they were named Cumbria’s ‘Best Luxury Boutique Hotel 2016’ at the Hotel and Spa awards.

Nanny Brow has also been awarded a CBEN gold award for environmental sensitivity in renovation and operation, and recognition of their five-star gold status by the AA for three years running, plus inclusion in the Michelin and Good Hotel Guides.

“We are very excited to have reached such a significant milestone and delighted that business is better than ever,” said custodian, Sue Robinson. “We have worked extremely hard to restore Nanny Brow to its former glory as one of the county’s most important arts and crafts properties; customer service and excellence are at the heart of everything we do here and clearly, this has come across to those who have stayed with us.  We look forward to another five years ‘at the top’!”
