A hotel on the seafront in Folkestone home to the ‘best cocktail bar in town’ has come to market for almost £1m.

The Southcliff Hotel has been brought to sale by Christie + Co for £999k as current owner Patrick Dubus looks to retire after 16 years at the helm.

The hotel occupies five former Victorian town houses, which were converted into two hotels in the 1930s and then joined together to become one in 1980.

Arranged over six floors, the Southcliff Hotel comprises 72 bedrooms, guest lounges, functions spaces and The Blue Martini, dubbed one of the best music bars in town.

The owner’s accommodation is located on the basement level and comprises two en suite bedrooms and a mini kitchen.

Andrew Moore, director at Christie & Co’s Maidstone’s office is handling the sale and comments, “The Southcliff Hotel represents a great opportunity to acquire a successful business which benefits from a great deal of repeat custom and has the potential to take it to a new level.”
