Following the departure of Oliver Williams earlier this year, Ellenborough Park has now appointed a new general manager.
The luxury country house hotel has welcomed Marwan Hemchaoui to the role, who joins from The Vineyard at Stockross near Newbury.
He brings with him more than 25 years experience as Ellenborough Park bids to become one of the leading hotels in the region and the wider UK.
After graduating from hotel school in Switzerland, Hemchaoui began his career in London, where he went on to work at The Intercontinental, JW Marriott, Grosvenor House as well as The Dorchester.
Most recently, he held the position of general manager at five-star hotel and spa The Vineyard since August 2013. Prior to this, he owned and ran restaurants in Newbury with his wife.
He replaces Oliver Williams who departed Ellenborough Park in May after two years at the helm for a new role in Ireland.
On his appointment, Hemchaoui commented: “I’m delighted to be joining Ellenborough Park at such an exciting time, and so look forward to being part of the community in Cheltenham. The team here is wonderfully passionate, enthusiastic and full of exciting ideas, and I’m so pleased to be working alongside them and taking such historically-rich hotel to new heights.”
