Christie & Co has brought to the market Salford Hall Hotel for an asking price of £2.75m for the freehold.
The Grade-I listed, three-star property in the village of Abbot’s Salford is currently operating under the Best Western brand, and has built up a consistent trade under the ownership of Mr Stewart who is now looking to retire.
The site comprises a former manor house, which dates back to the late 15th century, and Tudor Court, a converted granary and barn.
Across the two buildings, the hotel features 36 bedrooms, with 15 in the manor house and 21 in Tudor Court.
The site also comes with planning consent for 10 bedrooms and a spa facility to build on leisure, wedding and corporate trade.
Joshua Sullivan, senior business agent at Christie & Co who is handling the sale, comments: “Salford Hall is a classic country manor hotel set in an affluent location which presents a unique opportunity for a first time entrant or an experienced operator to acquire a trophy asset with the ability to add value.”
Mr Stewart says: “Over the past fifty years, I have learnt a vast amount and met some terrific people. My real thanks go to all those who have helped me along the way, and I could not have done it without their dedication and endless support.”
