The Game Bird at luxury London hotel The Stafford is to launch a new guest chef series, overseen by new culinary director Ben Tish.
In March, the restaurant, which opened at the end of 2016 with chef James Durrant at the helm, will welcome Michael Wignall of Gidleigh Park and Pennyhill Park fame, to kick off the new series.
For his one-off appearance, Wignall will create a five course menu, celebrating ‘wonderful British ingredients’ presented in new and inventive ways.
The second chef to take a one-night residency will be Lisa Allen, the executive chef at Michelin-starred Northcote in Lancashire.
She will bring her playful style to The Game Bird, with twists on classic Lancastrian dishes.
Both Wignall and Allen will cook alongside the team at The Game Bird and newly-appointed Tish who joined the property in January 2018.
The events on 23 March and 7 June will be followed by further guest chef appearances throughout the year, with names and dates to be confirmed in due course.
Speaking of the guest chef series, General Manager of The Stafford London, Stuart Procter, commented: “I have known both Michael and Lisa for many years, and as two of the country’s greatest chefs, I am delighted to be welcoming them to The Game Bird to kick off our guest chef series.”
