Clermont Hotel Group, the largest hotel owner-operator in London, has announced the promotion of Gavin Taylor to the role of chief executive officer.

Taylor joined the business as chief financial officer in 2019, leading the group’s finance, procurement and IT functions. During his tenure, he dealt with a number of disruptive global challenges, including the onset of the Covid pandemic and the cost of living crisis.

Taylor (ex-Arthur Andersen) has previously held senior finance positions at Jupiter Hotels, as well as being property developer of the Bulgari Hotel & Residences London and Queen’s Park Rangers Football Club.

In his new role as chief executive officer, Taylor aims to strengthen the group and take it to its next stage, with a re-energised strategy marking the business ambition for future growth.

The group has a strong plan for more investment across the portfolio in the coming months, following an initial £18 million refurbishment of The Clermont properties in Charing Cross and Victoria.

Gavin Taylor, chief executive officer at Clermont Hotel Group, commented: “The past four years have been incredibly rewarding as we have seen the group go from strength to strength. It is a great honour to have the opportunity to take the reins as CEO and lead our team on this exciting next step in the Clermont Hotel Group journey.

“I very much look forward to continue to ensure we deliver extraordinary experiences and
services for our guests across our portfolio of 17 hotels in London.”

Clermont Hotel Group’s portfolio comprises 5,000+ bedrooms and 120+ meeting and event spaces across brands as The Clermont, Hard Rock Hotel London and Thistle.
