Your first job? Set-up crew for the British Grand Prix, Silverstone – tables, chairs, glassware – it was a hoot!

If you weren’t a hotelier what would you be doing? The army

Which other company (inside or outside the industry) do you most admire or why? Lego – enduring and endlessly fun for all ages

What’s the first thing you do when you get to work in the morning? Say hi to the night porter and the breakfast team and pick up a flat white

Your dream job? I think I might be doing it as we speak…

Something you wish you knew before joining the industry? How important speaking more than one language is

Where do you see yourself in five years’ time? Still doing my dream job

Favourite food? My daughter’s home-made chocolate cake
