Highlight of your career so far? My appointment at The Ned. It’s been brilliant to be part of a hotel which has dramatically changed the face of the City, as well as people’s perceptions of how British hotels can operate.
If you could choose three guests, dead or alive, to dinner, who would you choose? Richard E Grant, Victoria Wood and Isadora Duncan.
Last hotel you stayed at? The Principal Charlotte Square, in Edinburgh. The service was impeccable, it’s a fabulous place.
Best piece of advice you ever received? “To ignore is to accept”

Which other company (inside or outside the industry) do you most admire and why? The World Food Programme because it’s mission statement is to eradicate hunger.

If you weren’t a hotelier what would you be doing? I’d be a trauma nurse
Where do you see yourself in five years’ time? I’d like to be MD of a progressive lifestyle hotel, where the approach to design matches the approach to service.
