Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa has teamed up with golf star Tommy Fleetwood to launch a new golf academy on site.
The Tommy Fleetwood Academy at Formby Hall opened last month to add to the resort’s 18-hole championship course and nine-hole Woodhey Dunes course, putting school, indoor teaching studios, diving range and club fitting studio.
Fleetwood learnt how to play golf at Formby Hall from the age of six and was taught by head pro, who still works at the resort today, Norman Marshall.
Through a fun and accessible training programme, Fleetwood aims to introduce young golfers to a whole range of techniques as well as teaching them the discipline of successful golf.
General manager Andrew Pyle says: ‘The Academy will give boys and girls across our region access to some of the best in golf tuition and facilities at every level. We really look forward to helping them take advantage of the opportunities that we can offer.”
In addition to the golfing facilities, the 76-bedroom hotel also boasts a recently refurbished health club and spa.
