As part of the easing of lockdown restrictions from July 4, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that people should remain 2 metres apart where possible but a 1 metre plus rule will be introduced.

People will be encouraged to take necessary measures to protect themselves, such as face covering, screens between tables and avoid face-to-face when less than 2 metres apart.

Hotels, pubs and restaurants will be required to operate just table service and customers should be encouraged to order through an app where possible.

Each venue will also be asked to collect the contact details of each guest on arrival to help with the track and trace procedure.
