Green Door puts West Cumbria inn on the market for £1.48m

The Woolpack Inn, Eskdale, the host of West Cumbria’s renowned EskFest music and beer festival, has been placed on the market for offers in the region of £1.48 million.

The property is owned and operated by Harry and Paddington Berger of Green Door who also run Stanley House in Eskdale.

The traditional coaching inn is situated at the foot of the Lake Dsitrict mountain route, Hardknott Pass.

The Inn offers seven bedrooms, a seven-berth log cabin, separate staff accommodation, restaurant and bar space catering for up to 150, spacious beer garden and ample car parking.

“After 21 successful years of running the hotel, and now that their children have left school, the joint owners – Harry and Paddington Berger – have taken the decision to sell this incredibly successful Lakeland coaching inn,” Neil Thomson, from Colliers International, who is advising the vendors in the sale.

Colliers International’s specialist Hotels team has a strong track record of advising on hotel sales in this area of The Lakes, such as The Three Shires Inn in Langdale, which was sold in August 2018.
