Individualisation and sustainability to drive hotel bathroom design


Individualisation and sustainability will drive hotel bathroom design next year, says one of the industry’s top suppliers has claimed.

Bathroom manufacturer, Hansgrohe, that developments in showers and mixers in 2019 will serve a fundamental purpose – to enhance user experience.

Hansgrohe predicts the industry will provide gentler and quieter water streams to bathrooms with new spray technology preventing water from bouncing off the skin.

Sarah Evans, head of channel marketing for Hansgrohe, said: “Customers are more in tune with the emotional side of their bathrooms, so we’re seeing increased demand for innovative spray patterns, extra-large shower heads and intuitive water controls that deliver a superior experience. It all comes down to making your living environment both beautiful and comfortable.”

Sustainability has also become increasingly high on the bathroom agenda, with customers being more interested in saving water and money.

“How we enjoy our bathrooms is also becoming intrinsically linked with how we adopt a more sustainable existence, meaning intelligent solutions that reduce water usage will only increase in prominence.”

Evans said that the company will put emphasis on individualisation in its designs as it will be a key focus for the bathroom in 2019.

“Individualisation is set to influence bathroom design in 2019 as pioneering developments in manufacturing invigorate the market and set the stage for increased personal expression.

“Bathroom taps, in particular, are becoming one-of-a-kind works of art that can be used to enhance an interior scheme and deliver a higher specification finish.”

Materials such as marble, wood, leather and metal will be brought to bathrooms with combination uses to create gold and brushed black chrome.
