Harbour Hotels’ Southampton showstopper sails ahead with five star rating from the AA

Harbour Hotels’ latest creation, its £25m yacht-inspired hotel in Southampton, has been officially been awarded a five star rating by the AA.

After only four months after opening, the 85-bedroom hotel in Ocean Village has become the only five-star hotel present in the city of Southampton.

The news of the rating was announced by the AA across its social media channels:

“Big congratulations @Southampton_HH & the @Harbour_Hotels team, achieving an official AA 5 star rating! A great accolade for this waterside hotel; after a number of mystery visits to measure consistency & quality we are delighted that this hotel has reached this level #AAawards”

Mike Warren, managing director of Harbour Hotels comments on the rating: “We are absolutely thrilled to have achieved this recognition from the AA in such a short period of time post opening. It is testament to the efforts of the team led by Simon Maguire, the general manager, to deliver an exceptional product and service to all of our guests and visitors.”

The new hotel opened in October 2017 following a three-year transformation process after the site was acquired in April 2014.

It is home to 85 bedrooms, the group’s Jetty restaurant concept and HarSPA brand, as well as a rooftop bar.

The hotel is the sixth addition to the Harbour Hotels’ portfolio, which is expanding rapidly since Mike Warren, former Hotel du Vin COO, joined in 2014.
