Harry Shepherd is gearing up to embark on an eventful few months, as he steps up to take over as general manager at Palé Hall, the five-star hotel in Wales. He certainly comes well-equipped for the role, with a background peppered with the likes of The Chester Grosvenor and Eden Hotel Collection’s Mallory Court.
He was appointed operations manager at Palé Hall six months ago and since then has spent his time working alongside outgoing manager Pim Wolfs preparing for his departure, learning all the intricacies of the hugely successful property and its 3 AA Rosette restaurant.
Owner Angela Harper said at the time she was ‘delighted’ that Shepherd was to now lead the Palé family going forward. Shepherd got his first taste of management just over four years ago, when he joined Mallory Court as deputy general manager, working at the property for almost two years before The Chester Grosvenor caught his eye.
There he worked as hotel manager and he quickly made an impression, being promoted to resident manager after just nine months. It was in this position where he stayed for over two years and found his feet in management, grasping exactly how the 68-bedroom hotel, Michelin-starred restaurant and substantial meetings and events offering works.
Palé Hall became his calling in October 2017 and he was appointed operations manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and guest relations. Again, he made an impact in just a short space of time, with personality and skillset proving he has what it takes to lead Palé Hall to further success.
