Hollybush Leisure submits 80-bed hotel scheme to add to hospitality boom in Teesside

Hollybush Leisure Limited has submitted an application to create a new 80-bed hotel in Teeside, amid a hotel boom for the area.

Plans propose an 80-bed hotel be constructed, along with a separate banqueting hall on land at Hollybush Farm, with Hollybush Leisure Limited adding that the scheme would make a “significant contribution to the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the area”.

Planning permission has already been granted for a market garden centre on the site, and has been renewed several times since 1995.

But agents on behalf of the applicant said the proposed market garden centre is no longer considered to be financially viable.

They say the proposed hotel is a ‘far more acceptable’ development and would support both Thornaby and the rest of Stockton borough.

A decision on the application will be made before May 16, before design plans are then drawn up.
