Home Grown Hotels gives power to its people with exciting new entrepreneurial hire

Home Grown Hotels and the LimeWood Group have appointed a new people director to develop and nurture both new recruits and long-standing team members within the group.

The brand, famous for The Pig Hotels, Lime Wood and Portetta, has welcomed Steve Rockey who has played a vital role in a number of exciting entrepreneurial restaurant and hospitality businesses, including Byron Burger and Grenada Retail, the group responsible for catering at the Millennium Dome.

This experience means Rockey is well equipped to take on the role at one of the biggest boutique hotel groups in the UK.

Robin Hutson says: “We are chuffed that Steve is joining us with such relevant skills and experience. He has been people director in companies that have grown rapidly so the synergies between his former employers and us are extensive. We love Steve’s no-nonsense attitude and appreciate that he’s a real people person.”

Rockey went to Island School in Hong Kong and came back to the UK to go to the University of Surrey to study hotel and catering management. He will officially start in Head Office on January 2, 2017.
