Homewood unveils launch plans for new lodge and outdoor kitchen

Homewood in Bath, owned by Ian and Christa Taylor, has revealed plans to launch a new 10-bedroom lodge, outdoor kitchen and al fresco terrace in late summer.

The hotel, which appointed Ed Fitzpatrick as general manager earlier this year, will open Homewood Lodge next to the main house, and a new outdoor space by August 2020.

Despite Covid-19 stalling the building work, plans are still progressing for the new development.

The new rooms inside Homewood Lodge will comprise of four suites with private terrace of balcony and a hot tub, two junior suites and four deluxe king size rooms, complementing the hotel’s existing 21 bedrooms.

Ian Taylor, owner, Kaleidoscope Collection, comments: “We are continually sourcing interesting art works, collections, books, fabrics, lamps to give each room an individual personality. Items are already being ear marked from our warehouse which will give a quirky feeling and design inspiration. We have just recently purchased 68 artists paint brushes, so one bedroom will have an interior feel of an artist in residence.”

The new terrace and outdoor kitchen will house a Japanese-inspired Robata grill, pizza oven and BBQ area. The new terrace menu will be a Mediterranean-style menu, with tapas & small plates, grilled meats and fish, plant-based salads and potted desserts, headed up by executive head chef Jamie Foreman.

Kaleidoscope Collection also consists of The Bird, Bath, which will once again host its popular The Nook Garden pop-up this summer.
