An ambitious hospitality talent has returned to the hotel where she started her career to take up the position of general manager.
Carla Robinson has been appointed general manager at Langley Castle Hotel, having worked there previously for over 25 years after starting out in 1988 as a waitress.
Robinson takes over from former GM Eric Kortenbach who joined the hotel just last year, taking over from Anton Philips, Langley’s manager for 25 years.
Now Robinson will focus on driving business to the property’s wedding facilities and is bidding to make the hotel ‘top of the agenda’ for engaged couples.
After joining the hotel aged just 13, she worked her way up through the ranks to reception manager and then moved on to assistant general manager.
She left Langley Castle in 2017 to take over the running of another hotel, and said when she was offered the GM role back at the hotel, she ‘could not refuse’.
Robinson says: “My aim is to make Langley the place to be, whether that is for a luxury stay, or a fabulous fairy-tale, Game of Thrones-style, marquee or outdoor wedding. My head is buzzing with ideas and my deep attachment to Langley Castle means that I shall do everything to put these into practice and drive the hotel on. I have waited a long time for the opportunity.”
The four-star Langley Castle Hotel is owned by Dr Stuart Madnick who lives in Boston in the US.
