Hotel du Vin Birmingham was told to ‘urgently improve’ its hygiene standards at its restaurant following a recent inspection.
Hotel du Vin in Church Road in the city centre was handed the lowest rating for hygiene during a routine inspection by environmental health officers on September 28.
The hotel immediately suspended part of its service following the inspection, and worked on improving three areas; hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety.
A spokesman said: “The Hotel du Vin Group takes any breach of health and safety standards extremely seriously and very quickly rectified the issue that caused the temporary breach.
“We would like to reassure all stakeholders of our total commitment to maintaining best in class standards.”
The boutique hotel group also stressed that it was an isolated incident and service resumed as normal within 24 hours.
