Hotel group’s strategic appointment made to implement “ambitious” expansion plan

Vipul at Aquae Sulis

The 14-bed property Aquae Sulis  is set to undergo an “ambitious expansion” scheme following the appointment of an experience hotel operator.

Newly appointed vice-president Vipul Kapur has joined the Bath Hospitality Limited (BHL) property Aquae Sulis on Newbridge Road from the Bath Hilton.

Kapur was formerly deputy hotel manager at the Hilton in the city and has a total of 14 years experience across resorts, airport hotels, city centre hotels and cruise liners.

He said: “Having worked at the Bath Hilton for three years I am very familiar with the city’s tourist industry and the high standards expected from its hospitality operators.

Director, Sanjoy Roy, added: “The idea is to allow Vipul to find a new manager at Aquae Sulis and bring it up to speed with his own well-stablished management systems – allowing me more freedom to concentrate on expansion and acquisitions.

“We have refurbished our rooms and taken on new staff – but I believe Vipul will be the bridge between where we are now and where we want to be in five years’ time.

“A person with Vipul’s qualifications is rather wasted at a B&B of this size but he will be in a position to manage our expansion plans both here at Aquae Sulis and elsewhere in Bath.”

Roy, along with his business partner in India, formed Bath Hospitality Ltd and bought the 14-bedroom Edwardian hotel on Newbridge Road in August last year.
