Hotel Indigo is to open in Chester later this year under a franchise agreement with Castlebridge Hospitality.

The 75-bedroom hotel is a new build designed by architects Franklin Ellis and will also comprise a fine-dining restaurant from 2015 MasterChef Simon Wood, Wood Chester.

The new hotel has been inspired by three elements of the city of Chester, its architecture, the 1897 Eastgate Clock and Chester Racecourse.

The design of the 96-cover Wood Chester restaurant will nod to Simon’s signature style. There will also be a private dining room available for up to ten people.

Bethan Johnston, general manager, Hotel Indigo Chester, said: “At Hotel Indigo we believe in providing more than just a good night’s sleep, we want to create an experience as unique as the neighbourhood in which we are found. It’s really important to us that we reflect the community around us and offer a personalised stay that is tailored both to the city and the guest.

“It’s a high end boutique experience but without ever being stuffy, we will offer top quality service that, like Simon’s food, is unintimidating, relaxed and welcoming. We believe we will offer something different to any other hotel in Chester.”
