Hotel owner offers finance deal to prospective buyer

A Blackpool hotelier is offering to lend money to the eventual buyer of his family run guesthouse.

Adam Pernak, co-owner of the Moorfield Hotel told North West Caterer that as banks are increasingly reluctant to lend to small businesses, he is prepared to sweeten the deal by allowing a bona fide purchaser “with a good deposit” to borrow the money from him.

“With 30 bedrooms and healthy occupancy rates, buoyed by internet sales, the hotel needs owners with the physical energy to run the business to its maximum potential.

“Rather than see a thriving business potentially suffer we have decided to use our fortunate position of owning the property outright with no mortgage as a chance to pass on the reins.

“It allows someone else with an ambition for hotel ownership the opportunity to keep the business prospering.”

The vendors are asking for £325,000 for the freehold.
