A new hospitality concept is to set sail this summer, as hotelier Lawrence Kenwright embarks on his next venture in the form of an Ibiza-style ‘floating hotel’.
Liverpool-based hotel developer and operator, Signature Living, has acquired a £3.3m ship, which is currently undergoing a fit-out in Portugal before it takes its maiden voyage in August this year.
The ship will be able to carry 632 passengers on board, visiting Marbella, Ibiza and Majorca for week-long residencies, featuring guest name DJs who will be flown in from around the world.
Entertainment in the form of percussionists, theatrical performers and Alma De Cuba’s dancers, will also be part of the new venture.
Bookings for the Signature Living Love Boat will go on sale in mid Jan with prices expected to start at £70 per person per night.
Commenting on the latest addition to the Signature Living Group, chairman Lawrence Kenwright said: “Our latest acquisition is without any doubt our most flamboyant, not only will you be able to enjoy this amazing vessel with your friends, but you will also share it with some of the world’s most influential celebrities and personalities, including an array of some of the world’s best DJ’s and all set out at sea.
“Signature Living have always ensured that its guest experience exceeds expectations and lives as far away from a standard hotel as is possible, but this floating hotel will yet again break all the rules.
“I am really excited for what the future holds for Signature Living as we continue to grow and develop as a company with exciting new hotel projects in Belfast and Liverpool.”
Signature Living was co-founded 10 years ago by Lawrence and Katie Kenwright and now has a portfolio of five operational hotels in Liverpool including the Shankly Hotel, Signature Living Hotel, Arthouse and 30 James Street – home of the Titanic – and the Exchange Hotel in Cardiff.
The company also has a further nine hotels currently in development, which includes Loyolla Hall in St Helens, the football-themed Dixie Dean in Liverpool, the second Shankly Hotel in Preston and the soon to be opened George Best hotel in Belfast.
