Hotelympia bosses confirmed last year that the 2018 exhibition will be divided up into four distinct shows as part of a “fresh new identity” created after feedback from the industry.
The revamp has been led by a new organising team at Fresh Montgomery, who hope to reinvigorate the event with a revised format that is still contained under one roof.
The show has now be divided into The Foodservice Show, incorporating a coffee-focused Café Commerce section and feature; The Hospitality Tech Show; The Professional Kitchen Show and The Interiors and Tableware Show.
Fresh Montgomery is positioning each one as specialist event in itself, but insists they will benefit from the longevity of the Hotelympia brand and a heritage that typically sees it attract more than 30,000 visitors.
Fresh Montgomery boss Toby Wand left the business in 2017, but the company has since created a new organising team headed up by portfolio director, Ross Carter (former organiser of the London Wine Fair) marketing manager, Sam Chance (Independent Hotel Show) and managing director Lori Hoinkes (previously Maple Leaf Foods director).
Carter said: “Following a period of consultation with the trade we have developed the Hotelympia brand, to act as the umbrella to four, co-located shows, each created to meet the demands of specific buying audiences in the Hospitality industry.
“Since its inception, Hotelympia has sought to mirror the vibrant industry that it serves, to stay relevant and ahead of the curve – 2018 will be no different. We move forward into the New Year with great optimism and excitement, a revitalised Hotelympia experience.”
Now the countdown to the exhibition is well and truly on, with just a few weeks to go until this new format is road tested for the first time.
Held from March 6 – 8, Hotelympia’s four shows-within-the-show will bid to appeal to various different attendees from the world of hospitality, with hoteliers high on the agenda.

The Professional Kitchen Show is set to offer a comprehensive view of everything new in catering equipment and kitchen design. Backed by key manufacturing and wholesale groups, it welcomes over 150 dedicated exhibitors to the show floor – the largest gathering of its kind in the UK.

Head to the Interiors and Tableware Show
The Interiors and Tableware Show will offer visitors an array of innovative suppliers – including pioneering design houses and interior specialists – and experiential features backed by specially-commissioned insight.
As part of the show, Hotelympia has partnered with SquareMeal, the market-leading independent restaurant guide, to create a survey that delves into the minds of modern diners. The results are now in, and are set to be unveiled in a unique experiential installation at the show that will highlight 2018’s emerging consumer trends and influence key buying decisions.
From lighting preferences, furniture and tableware, right through to music, menu style, uniforms and technology, the survey has left no stone unturned and has been designed to gain a true insight into what the modern-day consumer wants and expects from their dining experience. Not only will show visitors be able to claim their free copy of the report at the show, Hotelympia is working with property-based design, project management and development company, LXA (Wagamama, BXR Gym, Grand Hyatt) to bring the results to life in a standalone installation.

The programme of 30 minute hustings will include; the socially conscious online platform that works with environmentally aware, independent producers, COLLECTIVfood; health kids jelly snack, Naturelly; gourmet food delivery service, Supper; bookings and comparison site for the country’s best street food caterers, Feast It; creators of biologically-accurate food expiry indicator, Mimica and Deliveroo rival MealPal, among many others.
The Tech Innovation Stage in partnership with HOSPA will look at social media and online reputation management
The Tech Innovation Stage presents the opportunity for visitors to stay up to date with the latest hospitality technology, with talks and panel discussions from digital innovators and those who will be setting the agenda for years to come.
Topics like innovations in mobile, social media, online reputation management, ordering, networking, point of sale, the latest in guest room technology and women’s growing contribution to the sector will all be up for discussion.
Watch it Live with cooking demos and chef challenges galore
International Salon Culinaire returns to Hotelympia as part of The Foodservice Show, presenting new challenges and showcasing fresh talent. Student and professional chefs will be called upon to do battle in over 100 competitions, demonstrating their skills in the hope that they can follow in the footsteps of many of today’s leading UK chefs.
Four categories all return: Live Theatre – with a fast-moving series of hot live cooking classes; La Parade des Chefs – which sees two teams prepare a three-course lunch for 100 covers each day; the Skills Theatre, sponsored by Le Cordon Bleu London – aimed at chefs and front-of-house staff in the early stages of their careers; and Salon Display classes, sponsored by Compass Group – an inspiring range of hand-crafted exhibits in sugar, chocolate, fat, pastillage and more.
A host of new challenges, brought about by key trends, have also been introduced. Chefs will have the opportunity to show their understanding of veganism and street food with the arrival of the Quorn Vegan Challenge, Pan Artisan Street Food Dough Ball Challenge and Cheese Starter. Also new is the Craft Guild of Chefs’ National Team of the Year, which will see talented chef trios go head to head for the chance to be crowned this year’s champions.
