Houndgate Townhouse celebrates first birthday

August 1st marked a day of celebrations for Houndgate Townhouse in Darlington, as the hotel welcomed its first birthday.

The hotel, which is set in a grade II listed Georgian townhouse in the heart of Darlington town centre, is also home to the Hound bar and lounge and ‘eleven’ restaurant and all three celebrated the milestone at the start of the month.

The year-old boutique is classically designed and has enjoyed a profitable first 12 months welcoming guests from all over the world.

To mark the anniversary, the hotel compiled a list of interesting statistics from its first year of trading to promote to guests and non-residents.

This included figures such as 458 bottles of White Boar beer sold, 396 beef cheek dishes cooked and eaten, 113 afternoon teas served and 104 cheese boards made up and tasted.
