Bath hoteliers, Ian and Christa Taylor have launched a new summer pop-up at their hotel, The Bird, as they look to increase trade a year on from taking over the business.
The Nook Garden is a ‘playful’ new space, with ‘flamboyant touches’ such as creative planting, life-size sculptures and bright Balinese parasols and is the latest development at the property that has been transformed since the Taylors acquired the hotel in March 2018.
Food will be served the in the new garden on Friday evenings and all-day Saturday, while a focal point sculptural tree, adorned with lanterns takes centre stage.
The Nook garden is also available for private hire.
“We wanted to create an exciting alfresco venue for locals and visitors alike this summer,” said The Bird’s owner Ian Taylor. “After the success of the beach last year, we wanted to put a new spin on the space for 2019, and the idea of a visually enticing garden to appeal to groups of friends, families, private parties and hotel residents alike, immediately came to mind as a fun and accessible way to make the most of our south-facing terrace with its incredible views.”
Ian and Christa Taylor purchased the property in March 2018 and have since given the hotel a completely new identity; increasing the bedroom count from 27 to 31 and adding new meeting space and public areas.
The Bird is part of the independently-owned Kaleidoscope Collection, comprising No.15 Great Pulteney, The Bird and Homewood.
