Icon Hotel sinks 60s Vespa in restaurant fish tank

Icon Hotel, a 55-room 3-star property close to Luton Airport, has taken design cues from some of London’s hippest boutique hotel by installing a statement fish tank in its Italian restaurant.

Capello’s restaurant is now proud home to a 2000 litre tank where 80 African Cichlid multi-coloured fish play second fiddle to a 1968 Vespa scooter.

The project was the brainchild of the Icon staff and was installed by Luton businessman and Capello’s regular Jason Burgoyne.

“As far as I know of, no one else in the world has ever attempted a real scooter in a fish tank” said Burgoyne. “The owner of the Icon goes out of his way to offer Luton and his guests something very different and I think this idea clearly demonstrates how truly unique his hotel and Cappello’s Restaurant is, in comparison to any other hotel or restaurant in Luton.”
