InterContinental has signed a deal to launch Hotel Indigo London at One Leicester Square, marking the brand’s fourth property in London and 11th in the UK.
Due to open in late 2017, the hotel will feature 95 bedrooms, each with a design reflecting the local area. The property will also be home to a rooftop bar and restaurant with views over the capital, plus a gym and working spaces that guests can use for meetings.
The hotel will operate under a franchise agreement with Criterion Capital and will be the operator’s first venture with the franchise partner.
Andrew Shaw, associate vice president of development UK&I, IHG, said: “London is a core driver of demand within the UK. The increase in international inbound travel to London is driving a need for new hotels and giving us the opportunity to grow our portfolio. Hotel Indigo London – One Leicester Square will be a valuable addition to the brand, in a globally recognised London location. We are looking forward to working on the hotel with Criterion Capital.”
IHG continues to grow its boutique portfolio with 13 more Hotel Indigo properties set to open over the next three years across Europe.
Currently the portfolio consists of 72 hotels open and 76 hotels in the global pipeline, with the brand growing rapidly since its launch in 2004.
Since Q3 2016, IHG has signed eight Hotel Indigo properties across Europe.
