IN PICTURES: Hilton London Bankside launches new ‘multi-sensory’ meeting room

Hilton London Bankside has partnered with an expert in ‘multi-sensory design’ to launch a new meeting room specifically designed to stimulate creativity.

The new Agora room at the hotel in the capital features a number of details and designs that are targeted towards encourage innovation and interaction among corporate clients.

The name of the room has been inspired by its translation to ‘gathering place’ in Ancient Greece, which was also known to be the centre of artistic trading in Athens.

Features include scented air on request, mood-improving lighting installations and a custom-built ‘Crux of Creativity’ table in the centre of the room, which highlights inlaid key lines which point to important sites of creativity around Bankside, such as The Globe, The Tate, British Film Institute and Royal Festival Hall.

An emergency creativity button, once pressed, a jet will push out cool air to wake the individual up and stimulate imagination. The cool air will also be scented with flavours such as lemon oil, peppermint and cinnamon.

Interactive Screen

A a 75-inch screen allows wireless connection and communication with guests’ own devices. 

Blue Moods

The Blue Moods light setting on the control panel initiates a bespoke piece of immersive video art designed to make guests feel more alert. Artist Doug Foster’s hypnotic creation, featuring hints of Hilton London Bankside and its surrounding architecture, offers five-minute mind breaks and engulfs the room in a blue hue.

Mine of Inspiration

The room also features a sculptural wall with in-built displays for artwork and objects designed to inspire.

Elixirs of Revelation

Creativity tea station with illuminated shelves and a specially curated tea menu including brain-boosting ingredients.

Scattered Ideas

A wall designed for guests to pin creative outputs up directly using magnetic terrazzo style pieces.
