This October the Independent Hotel Show is back at London’s Olympia and is bursting with more innovations and insight than ever before. With new products in abundance and seminar sessions that promise to inspire every visitor, we take a look at what to expect from the only exhibition dedicated to the luxury, boutique hotel sector.

The Independent Hotel Show, presented by James Hallam Insurance Brokers, checks into Olympia London on 15 and 16 October to inspire and engage the boutique and luxury hotel community and celebrate Britain’s most exciting industry.

Now in its eighth year, the premier business event will bring together over 6,500 hotel owners, general managers and key decision makers to explore a myriad of creative solutions from a carefully curated collection of over 350 hotel suppliers, designed to help transform the hotel guest experience.

From high-end interior designers to technology innovators, exhibitors will showcase new products and services which share the aim of helping hoteliers and their businesses flourish within today’s creative and compelling market.

Looking for unique furnishings? A raft of suppliers, from The Headboard Workshop with its array of show-stopping headboards, including The Emperor, to Italian artisan mirror creator Antique Mirror Italy will be on hand to show how to inject serious style into your interiors.

For a pop of colour, stop by Cheeky Chairs’ stand for a glimpse of the furniture designer’s boutique collection of crafted designer chairs and bar stools, carved in English oak and ash and upholstered in fabulous fabrics from the likes of Liberty London, Christian Lacroix and Matthew Williamson, or take in wallpaper designer Susi Bellamy’s eye-catching marble-themed wallcoverings adorning walls of the show.

Further interior design inspiration can be discovered around the show. Julian Chichester will be applying stylish touches to the Social Business Space, powered by Good Energy, an area where hoteliers can engage in tailored campfire-esque sessions, while Two’s Company Interior Design will give VIP area The Suite a classic contemporary Art Deco style.

As design partner to the Innovation Stage, in partnership with eviivo, House of Sloane is planning to fulfil the brief of ‘modern eclecticism meets maximalist glamour’ by kitting the stage out with bold hues, luxurious velvets, a dash of animal print and eclectic accessories, while independent interiors company Graham & Green plans to pull together ‘the perfect balance’ of eclectic statement furniture and homely finishing touches on the Hotel Vision Stage, in partnership with Quality in Tourism.

Hear about the vision of Britain’s most influential hotelier Robin Hutson on the Hotel Vision Stage. The renowned hotelier and CEO of the acclaimed Home Grown Hotels will take part in an inspiring conversation with Fiona Duncan on Tuesday 15 October.

Gain further insight and inspiration through the show’s packed programme of discussions. Pick up valuable tips on how to cater for guest well-being in Unpacking the Wellness Traveller on the Innovation Stage on Tuesday 15 October and learn how to work better within your local community to help become an employer of choice in Community Business on the Hotel Vision Stage on Wednesday 16 October.

In line with the emerging trends of modern, environmentally savvy hotel guests, the Independent Hotel Show 2019 will also present a futuristic and boundary pushing hotel bedroom – The Conscious Bedroom – on the show floor.

Combining luxury interior design and environmentally conscious solutions, The Conscious Bedroom, designed by London design studio Harris & Harris and in partnership with Criton, will give forward-thinking hoteliers a view of how to balance guest experience with sustainable choices. An overarching ethos of wellbeing in hospitality has been carefully considered in each aspect of the installation.

A report, providing further insight into today’s consumers’ attitudes to conscious travel, local sourcing sustainable design and wellness, will be unveiled as part of a wider discussion on taking a conscious approach in hotels on the Innovation Stage on Tuesday 15 October.

And finally, recognising and rewarding the industry’s finest is the focus on the evening of Tuesday 15 October at the Independent Hotel Show Awards, in association with TravelClick.

This year, in addition to the Independent Hotelier accolade, there will be two new awards – the Hotel Innovation award and the GM of the Future, supported by the Master Innholders which will allow the hotel community to honour those who have made significant contributions to the industry over the last year.
