Investment boost sees Chester boutique set for expansion

Edgar House, an award-winning boutique hotel in Chester, is now on the road to expansion after receiving an investment boost from Christie Finance.

The hotel, which opened in 2013 following an extensive redevelopment, is owned by Tim Mills and Mike Stephen, who will now focus on expanding the business over the coming months.

The Georgian property was named as the number one small hotel in the world in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2016 and continues to be given glowing reviews from the likes of the Good Hotel Guide and Sunday Times.

As a result of this impressive recognition and growing popularity, Tim and Mike sought out an investment partner to fund the amount needed for their planned refurbishment over the coming months.

Scott Murcott, finance consultant at Christie Finance who helped arrange the specialist refinance package, comments: “I am delighted to have helped Tim & Mike find the right funding to support their plans. Using our extensive contacts we were able to negotiate a great finance package, saving our clients over £225k over the loan term which they can use to invest into the business.”

Mike Stephen commented: “It has been a fantastic three years for us, and the best possible start to 2016 with the recent TripAdvisor Award. We were delighted to work with Christie Finance to help fund our growth plans, and Scott was an absolute pleasure to work with.”
