Irish brothers’ booming hotel business takes shape with over £6m transformation investment

Two brothers who run a hospitality business in Ireland have doubled their hotel portfolio and ploughed over £6m into their new hotel addition.

Anthony and Colm Neville acquired the Midlands Park Hotel, formerly known as Portlaoise Heritage, in July 2015 and have now invested the lump sum in bringing the property into the modern day, with a new-look restaurant, bedrooms, public areas and meeting rooms.

The four-star hotel, which was only built in 2002, is home to 110 bedrooms and joins the brothers’ sister hotel, the Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorthy in the portfolio.

Midlands Park Hotel has also announced the appointment of a new general manager. Dan Cruise has joined the property from his position as director of operations at Powercourt Resort Hotel in Co Wicklow.

He also boasts experience at the likes of The Burlington, the Fitzwilliam Hotel and The Stephen’s Green Hotel.

Cruise says: “This is an exciting time for me and the hotel and I want to help foster and showcase the high standards we have set ourselves for our customers and the community. I want everyone to be proud of the hotel and the wonderful food, accommodation, warm hospitality and services we offer.”
