The group, now consisting of five iconic boutiques across the country, has become synonymous with laid-back luxury, stripped back interiors and a design that quickly makes you feel at home.
Behind each property’s look is down to interior designer Judy. Married to Robin, the founder of The Pig and chairman and CEO at Home Grown Hotels, together they have grown a litter of small luxury lifestyle hotels, restaurants, and lodges within two groups – Lime Wood Group and Home Grown Hotels, with a focus on authenticity and informality of design, food and service.
The Pig was launched in 2011 and has become one of the most talked about group of hotels to emerge in recent years, with its restaurant with rooms and kitchen garden concepts pushing the boundaries of traditional hospitality.
Judy’s ability to transform run-down buildings into sumptuous places to sleep and dine has earned her huge admiration; her skill to give spaces a modern uplift whilst still retaining its period features impresses with every new opening.
At the start of each new project she creates a character in her head, who could have lived there within the building. From this basis, she forages fabrics to team up with the property’s style and feel and her vision starts to come to life. With three new Pigs on the horizon for 2018 and 2019, we shall wait with baited breath to see what Judy will create next.
