The Grove of Narberth has announced the promotion of Karen Weisheit to the role of Hotel Manager.
Weisheit joined the Seren Collection – the hotel’s parent company – just over five years ago as an Assistant Restaurant Manager at Coast in Saundersfoot, before taking the position of Reception & Reservations Manager at Grove shortly thereafter.
A promotion to House Manager followed in 2018.
In this time Weisheit has seen massive change at Grove and was a key member of the team that won AA Hotel of the Year in 2019.
More recently, she led her team to win Front of House Team of the Year at the Hotel Cateys in 2021.
She also successfully completed her Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 in 2021, while volunteering to support those in need as part of Hospitality Action’s Golden Friends programme.
Thomas Ferrante, General Manager of the Grove of Narberth, commented: “Karen Weisheit has been a stalwart at Grove since joining in 2017. Her dedication, support and continued pursuit of excellence are a joy to work with. Karen is a true hospitality professional with a very bright future ahead. It is wonderful to watch her develop and realise her potential with us in west Wales.”
Neil Kedward, Seren’s Managing Director, added: “Karen’s ongoing success is richly deserved. Her commitment and selfless approach have earned great respect in every team both at Grove and across Seren. She is innately sensitive to her team and the guests needs and has been patient waiting for this senior management opportunity. [My wife] Zoe and I wish her every success in leading the team at Grove in her new role.”
Seren Collection recently announced the purchase of its second hotel venue, having acquired Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel in North Wales. Seren will take ownership of the hotel on 13 June.
