Lake District hotel reveals total revamp to focus on family market

The Fisherbeck reveals new look

The Fisherbeck in Ambleside has unveiled a totally new look after a renovation project that has seen the business retargeted towards the family market.

The hotel was purchased in 2019 by Clark Zhou has been redesigned with its 18 bedrooms given an uplift and a new kids area introduced.

The changes have been made in a bid to better focus on the family market, which Zhou says is ‘very important’ to the business.

Clark Zhou says: “We think it’s very important to make families feel welcome and to help keep children entertained. Therefore, as part of the refurbishment we designed a specific space in the hotel for the kids to play. Our aim is to make families feel as welcome as possible so they can reconnect and enjoy their holiday in the Lake District.”

Design touches run throughout the hotel with polished wood complementing the accent colours of yellow ochre and turquoise.

The garden terrace has also been remodelled.

The 18-bedroom hotel now offers six room types, some of which can be configured for up to a family of six.

Laura Dadulak, general manager at The Fisherbeck says: “The redesign of the hotel is stunning, and we are so pleased to be able to open our doors to welcome guests, after what’s been a tough period for the industry.”
