Selina has launched in Birmingham, marking the second UK location from the Latin-American start-up hospitality brand.
Hot on the heels of the opening of Selina in Manchester, the experience-led hospitality group targets the ‘modern nomadic traveller’ with Selina Birmingham comprising 39 bedrooms, including a female-only category and a range of social spaces.
Situated in the city’s Jewellery Quarter, Selina Birmingham will also be home to a Latin-American restaurant, La Mariposa, due to open at the end of the month with chef Kray Treadwell at the helm, who recently appeared on BBC’s Great British Menu.
The spaces include a sociable lobby space, wellness area, coffee shop, cocktail bar and wine bar as well as the bedrooms which range from private rooms to suites and shared rooms designed by Lorna Keller.
Guests will additionally have access to an extensive communal kitchen and library space, which feeds down into the spacious activity centre.
Selina’s head of country UK, Erwin de Jong Oliveira said “We’re thrilled to bring our concept to one of the most exciting cities in the UK, and in such a thriving neighbourhood. We wanted to blend Selina’s Latin-American roots with local talent, history and culture and we are excited to open our doors and provide a new hub for the community.”
Selina first started in Panama in 2015.
