Local Wolverhampton hotel bids to build on its success after £1.5m refurbishment

The Mount, an independent hotel in Wolverhampton, has announced the completion of its £1.5m refurbishment, which it hopes will now focus on elevating its status even further.

The 66-bed boutique hotel, which was acquired by Aspen Leisure in 2012, has been slowly transformed over the last four years and this recent investment has seen the renovation of its existing bedrooms as well as the creation of nine stylish new suites.

The five suites and four junior suites join other revamped features including the courtyard, Champagne bar and wedding and conference facilities.

The Victorian Manor House has been operating as a hotel since 1952 and since then has built up a firm reputation for good hospitality in the area.

The Mount is now bidding to increase its status with its modern new look and features.

Owner Scott Bernard said: “We took on the project in the hope of returning it to its former glory, and judging by the feedback and awards we have received, we have managed to do just that. We’re delighted to have completed the new suites, which mark the final stage in a four-year project. We look forward to building on the successes over the last couple of years and adding to our portfolio of awards and recommendations.”

As a final stage of the revamp, the hotel is launching its new website this week.
