Luton’s Icon Hotel gets four-AA-star status upgrade as boutique business continues on the up

The Icon Hotel in Luton has been upgraded to four AA star status following a £300k investment into refurbishing the property.

The hotel was given the improved rating after an unplanned overnight by the AA, who found the cleanliness, service, food, bedrooms and bathroom at the Icon to be of four-star standard.

The stamp of approval is the third award the hotel has achieved within the last two months, following a five-star hygiene rating from Luton Borough Council’s Environmental Health Department and a 2017 Certificate of Excellence Award from TripAdvisor.

The Icon Hotel recently completed on a £300k renovation, which saw its bar and lounge area redesigned, a new front of house desk installed, plus a new Wifi system, website and additional bedrooms.

“This is a very proud accolade for all involved and we would like to thank everyone who has helped make this prestigious award possible” said Michael Bugler, general manager at Icon Hotel Luton.

“We have purposefully made ourselves unique and very different from the array of multinational hotels in Luton and I hope this adds to this approach. I am delighted for the hotel but also the town and I am confident that being a four star hotel will be a welcome boost to not only the hospitality and leisure sector of Luton but the entire business community.”
